Danube Biosphere Reserve - is Europe's largest natural lands, undisturbed by human activities and are under protection. The reserve includes the entire Danube delta in Ukraine and two-kilometer strip of sea area along the coast. Most of the reserve is covered Danube smooth - shallow lake overgrown with reeds. This is an ideal habitat for Bole than 260 species of birds that nest there in huge numbers. Especially a lot of birds gather in the coastal spits during seasonal migration. In the flooded areas and the islands between them is also home to dozens of species of animals and fish, many of which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
